Updated 20 October 2026. We re-read the Deccan Herald reports on the demolition tenders and affected properties. Pages that rank today give the station list but not the revised double-decker plan, the 1,087 properties to be acquired or the demolition stretches; this one has all of that, plus the homes near each corridor.
Orange Line stations: JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura (22)

Why 31 stations but 30 names?
Sumanahalli Cross is counted on both corridors because it is where they meet. BMRCL's total of 31 stations counts it twice, so there are 30 distinct station names.
When will Phase 3 be completed?
Deccan Herald reports the deadline as 2032 (10 September 2026). An unofficial tracker says May 2031, and Wikipedia's Orange Line page shows 2036. We have not found a BMRCL statement for May 2031 or 2036, so we lead with 2032. The Union Cabinet approved Phase 3 on 17 August 2024 (Wikipedia).
One more step affects all future metro approvals: a fresh Comprehensive Mobility Plan, which DULT is drafting for ₹4.16 crore and which is expected in about a year, is a prerequisite for the Centre's approval of Namma Metro projects (Deccan Herald, 20 October 2026).
Is Phase 3 a double-decker metro?
Partly. The original plan put a road flyover and the metro on a double-decker viaduct for 37.12 km at ₹9,692.33 crore. Civil bids opened in January 2026 were put on hold after the Centre objected to the double-decker design; RITES submitted a feasibility report and the tender deadline was pushed to 3 October 2026 (Deccan Herald, 10 September 2026). The state has since given in-principle approval to a revised plan keeping about 11 km of double-decker structure, and BMRCL said it would float fresh civil tenders within 45 days (Construction World, 24 September 2026).
How many properties will be demolished for Phase 3?
- Total: 1,087 properties to be fully or partly demolished, about 1.33 lakh sq m of floor area (Deccan Herald, 28 July 2026).
- Hosahalli–Kadabagere: 342 properties.
- Mysuru Road–Kottigepalya–Sunkadakatte: 339 properties.
- Sumanahalli–Kempapura: 406 properties.
- Demolition tenders (floated 9 September, bids due 10 October, ₹17.57 crore, one year): JP Nagar 4th Phase–Mysuru Road (10.88 km, ₹4.74 crore); Mysuru Road–Kottigepalya junction plus the Sunkadakatte depot link (6.2 + 1.64 km, ₹4.54 crore); Sumanahalli–Kempapura (13.171 km, ₹4.29 crore); Hosahalli–Kadabagere (12.507 km, ₹4 crore) (Deccan Herald, 10 September 2026).
- KIADB has already issued a notification to acquire some of these properties (Deccan Herald, 28 July 2026).
What it means for homes near the line
Corridor 1 serves JP Nagar, Banashankari's western edge, Kathriguppe, Hosakerehalli, Nagarbhavi, Sumanahalli, Peenya, BEL Road, Hebbal and Kempapura — areas that today depend on the ORR for north–south travel. Corridor 2 serves Magadi Road, Kamakshipalya, Sunkadakatte and Herohalli towards Kadabagere. Because both corridors are planned rather than under construction, they will not change daily travel for some years; plan around the lines that are open.
If you own or are buying a property right on the ORR or Magadi Road along these stretches, check whether it is on the acquisition list; the KIADB notification and BMRCL's land acquisition office are the places to ask. For homes set back from the road, a future station within about 800 m to 1 km is roughly a 10–12 minute walk. We make no forecast about prices.
