Is the Yellow Line running now, and how often?
Yes. The line was inaugurated on 10 August 2025 and opened to the public the next morning. It started with only three trains, one every 25 minutes. Service has improved in steps as trains arrived.
On 2 June 2026 BMRCL said it was adding two trains, taking the fleet in service to 10. Peak frequency moved from 9 minutes to 7 minutes, off-peak from 14 to 10 minutes, and weekends to 10 minutes all day. Peak hours are 8 am to noon and 4 pm to 9 pm on weekdays. By 12 September 2026, BMRCL described the scheduled peak-hour frequency as six minutes. Train number 11 had already arrived for testing in June, and six more trains are due from BEML under a ₹414 crore order from 2027.
Timings: when the line opened, BMRCL said trains from the terminal stations would run from 5 am to 11 pm, in line with the rest of the network. End-to-end travel was put at about 38 minutes. Check the BMRCL app for any later change to first and last trains.
Ridership: Deccan Herald reported an average weekday ridership of about one lakh in March 2026, when eight trains were running. BMRCL's own target with all 15 trains was 1.5 to 2 lakh a day. We did not find a newer official daily figure.
Which interchanges are open and which are coming?
- RV Road (Green Line): open. You can change to the Green Line here today.
- Jayadeva Hospital (Pink Line): the elevated Pink Line from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere has six stations, including Jayadeva Hospital. The safety commissioner inspected it from 6 to 8 October 2026 and raised 36 observations. BMRCL filed its compliance on 15 October and the authorisation was expected within days, with the inauguration date still awaited from the Prime Minister's Office. Track the details at Pink Line Namma Metro: Opening Date, 18 Stations, Status & Property Impact (October 2026).
- Central Silk Board (Blue Line): the Blue Line station will link to the Yellow Line station by an elevated walkway and travelator. BMRCL awarded that contract on 14 August 2026 for ₹55.48 crore with a nine-month deadline, so it will not be ready before May 2027. Until then, passengers will have to exit one station to reach the other.
Homes near Yellow Line stations: prices by station group
The figures below are Square Yards asking prices for apartments, read on 17 October 2026, for the June 2026 quarter unless marked. They average listing prices for new and resale homes together, so treat them as a starting point, not a valuation. In small localities the figure can swing between quarters because the mix of listings changes.
RV Road, Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital and BTM Layout
This is the established south: Jayanagar, JP Nagar and BTM Layout. Supply is mostly resale and redevelopment, and the Pink Line interchange at Jayadeva will add a north-south link along Bannerghatta Road.
- Jayanagar: about ₹18,900 per sq ft asking (Dec 2025: ₹20,900).
- JP Nagar: about ₹11,350 per sq ft asking.
- BTM Layout: about ₹13,850 per sq ft asking (Dec 2025: ₹10,400, a jump that partly reflects listing mix). See Btm Layout.
Silk Board, Bommanahalli, Hongasandra, Kudlu Gate and Singasandra
The Hosur Road stretch near HSR Layout. This is where newer gated projects sit within reach of both Silk Board and the HSR and Sarjapur Road job belts. Read Kudlu Gate, Bengaluru: Buyer's Guide 2026 — Prices, Metro, Projects and Risks for the micro-market detail.
- HSR Layout: about ₹17,638 per sq ft asking (headline figure; the page gave no quarterly table).
- Kudlu Gate: about ₹16,050 per sq ft asking.
- Singasandra: about ₹12,000 per sq ft asking.
- Begur Road: about ₹12,700 per sq ft asking.
- Bommanahalli: about ₹7,200 per sq ft asking for June 2026, but ₹10,050 in March 2026. The swing shows a thin, mixed listing base, so check actual transactions.
- Hongasandra: about ₹5,400 per sq ft asking (headline figure). Much of the stock here is older, smaller buildings.
- Projects to look at near Singasandra and Kudlu Gate include Mahindra Zen Singasandra Hosur Road. Check each project's RERA page before paying anything.
Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Electronic City and Konappana Agrahara
The technology park belt. These stations put Electronic City Phase 1 and the Hosa Road residential cluster on the metro for the first time. For a full locality view, see Hosa Road, Bengaluru: Buyer's Guide 2026 — Prices, Metro, Projects and Risks and Electronic City, Bangalore.
- Hosa Road: about ₹11,000 per sq ft asking (Dec 2025: ₹9,800).
- Electronic City: about ₹9,300 per sq ft asking (Dec 2025: ₹9,750).
- Electronic City Phase 2: about ₹6,350 per sq ft asking.
- A project close to the Electronic City stations: Sobha Silicon Oasis Electronic City.
Huskur Road, Hebbagodi and Bommasandra
The southern end: an industrial area with growing apartment supply, and the most affordable stretch of the line. The terminus is still well short of Chandapura and Attibele, which many buyers on this side compare. See Bommasandra, Bengaluru: Buyer's Guide 2026 — Prices, Metro, Projects and Risks.
- Bommasandra: about ₹8,350 per sq ft asking (Dec 2025: ₹7,750).
- Huskur: about ₹7,350 per sq ft asking (headline figure).
- Chandapura, beyond the terminus: about ₹6,300 per sq ft asking.
- A project between Hebbagodi and Huskur Road: Purva Silversky Hebbagodi Huskur Road Near Electronic City.
Worked example: what the station you pick costs
Take a 1,200 sq ft (super built-up) flat priced at the area's asking average. The numbers are illustrative, because a specific project can be priced well above or below its area.
- Near Electronic City: 1,200 × ₹9,300 = ₹1,11,60,000, about ₹1.12 crore.
- Near BTM Layout: 1,200 × ₹13,850 = ₹1,66,20,000, about ₹1.66 crore.
- Near Bommasandra: 1,200 × ₹8,350 = ₹1,00,20,000, about ₹1.00 crore.
- Gap between BTM Layout and Electronic City: ₹1.662 crore minus ₹1.116 crore = about ₹54.6 lakh for the same size, on the same line.
- Add stamp duty, registration and GST (for under-construction homes) on top of these prices before you compare budgets.
What to check before buying near a Yellow Line station
- Walk the route from the gate to the station. Deccan Herald found on the eve of the opening (8 August 2025) that six stations (Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board, Kudlu Gate and Bommasandra) lacked skywalks, so crossing Hosur Road can add real minutes.
- Check which side of Hosur Road the project is on, and whether a feeder bus runs to the nearest station.
- Do not pay a premium for interchanges that are not open. Jayadeva awaits its Pink Line authorisation, and the Silk Board walkway is due no earlier than May 2027.
- Verify RERA registration, khata type and the approved plan for the exact building. A metro does not fix a title problem.
- Compare rents near the station with your EMI if you are buying to let. A one-year-old line is still maturing.
