What does the RERA date mean for possession?

The RERA date is the completion date the developer gave Karnataka RERA for that registration. Section 4 of the RERA Act 2016 asks every promoter to declare the time in which it will complete the project.

It is not the day you get keys. Handover follows the occupancy certificate, and it can be different for each tower or phase. Your agreement for sale is the document that sets your own date, so read that clause and do not rely on a brochure, a portal or this list.

  • Search by the RERA number on the line above, not the project name, as one project can have several registrations.
  • Open the certificate or project details and read the completion date for your phase or wing.
  • Match that to the tower and the date in your draft agreement for sale.
