Hebbagodi is a municipal town on the Hosur Road side of Electronic City, managed by the Hebbagodi City Municipal Council and part of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region. At the 2011 census it had a population of 34,827. It matters to buyers now for two reasons: the Yellow Line's Biocon Hebbagodi station, and a handful of large launches on the Huskur Road side.

The metro

Biocon Hebbagodi (formerly Hebbagodi) is an elevated station next to the depot that maintains all Yellow Line trainsets (per Wikipedia). It sits between Huskuru Road to the north and Bommasandra to the south. Wikipedia's station page says Biocon contributed ₹65 crore and donated land worth ₹30 crore in exchange for 30 years of naming rights, while the Yellow Line article says Biocon and Infosys each put ₹100 crore towards their stations. The two figures conflict, and we do not need either to assess a home, so treat the amount as unconfirmed.

A practical caveat from Deccan Herald's pre-opening audit: Hebbagodi has a skywalk, but it is a 5-10 minute walk from the station entrance. So 'metro adjacent' at Hebbagodi should be checked on foot.

Why price data is thin here

We could not retrieve a Magicbricks locality page for Hebbagodi or Huskur, so we have no verified locality average to quote. The nearest published benchmarks are ANAROCK's Q2 2026 Electronic City average quoted base price of ₹7,450 per sq ft (up 3% quarter on quarter) with quoted rents of ₹20,000-31,000 a month for a 2 BHK, and Magicbricks' Jul-Sep 2026 averages of about ₹7,951 per sq ft for Bommasandra and about ₹7,328 for Attibele. Hebbagodi lies between them geographically, but we cannot say its asking rate sits in that range without a source.

Projects listed on Property Point

Purva Silversky (Purva Silversky Hebbagodi Huskur Road Near Electronic City) by Puravankara is listed in Hebbagodi on Huskur Road as a new launch with 3 and 4 BHK apartments at about ₹2.55-4 crore and possession shown as July 2030. That is a very different price band from the surrounding mid-segment market. ANAROCK's Electronic City report (May 2024) showed that 80% of available inventory there was under construction and that the prominent budget band was ₹40-80 lakh, so a ₹2.5 crore-plus product is an outlier for the micro-market and depends on buyers who value the brand and the planned amenity set over the locality.

Social infrastructure

Wikipedia's Hebbagodi entry points to the St. Francis de Sales school and college and National Public School's Hosur Road campus at Hebbagodi. Hospitals and malls are mostly in the Electronic City hub to the north; ANAROCK's Electronic City report names Anugraha Hospital, Kauvery Hospital, D Mart and M5 E City Mall in that micro-market. Verify the actual drive from your chosen project.

Risks

  • Distance from the main employment cluster: Hebbagodi is south of Electronic City, so your commute to a Phase 1 employer is a few stations away rather than a walk.
  • Possession and execution: a 2030 handover on a premium product depends on delivery and on the area's amenities maturing.
  • Municipal-town governance: Hebbagodi is administered by its own city municipal council, not by Bengaluru's city corporations. Confirm the property tax, khata and approval authority in writing before you buy.
  • Resale depth: with fewer comparable sales, your exit is harder to price than in HSR or Sarjapur Road. Budget for a longer holding period.
  • Last-mile: the long walk to the skywalk at Biocon Hebbagodi, per Deccan Herald, makes a feeder bus or auto a likely part of the journey.

Phase 3A and the extension question

The Hebbal-Sarjapur Phase 3A line does not serve Hebbagodi. Some local guides discuss an extension of the Yellow Line beyond Bommasandra to the Jigani-Anekal industrial belt, and Wikipedia's Jigani entry mentions 'talks' of such an extension. We could not confirm a sanctioned, funded plan, so do not underwrite a purchase on it.

Who it suits and our verdict

Hebbagodi suits buyers who work in the Electronic City, Bommasandra or Anekal industrial belt and want a larger home away from the denser north. It is not ideal for buyers who need an easy resale or a short walk to the metro.

Our verdict: a patient-capital location. The metro and depot give it permanence, but the price data is thin and the premium launches are priced well above the local norm. Insist on a written price sheet, compare with ready homes in Electronic City, and verify approvals on K-RERA.
