Updated 30 October 2026. Every date below is a target unless we say otherwise. Several have moved before, so we show the newest dated statement for each stretch and who gave it.
Bangalore metro opening dates, stretch by stretch

- Pink Line underground, Dairy Circle to Nagawara (13.76 km, 12 stations): target March 2027, with trial runs expected in November to December 2026 (Deccan Herald, 5 October 2026). NativePlanet said on 23 October 2026 that the opening date is not set, so treat March 2027 as a target only.
- Blue Line, Central Silk Board to KR Puram (19.75 km, 13 stations): BMRCL's target is May 2027 (NativePlanet, 16 October 2026). The minister's review said mid-2027 (Deccan Herald, 22 October 2026, as read by us on 23 October).

Has the Pink Line opened yet?
No, not as of 30 October. The safety clearance came on 28 October, after a 6 to 8 October inspection raised 36 issues that BMRCL then answered (Swarajya, 29 October 2026). Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said the Prime Minister would visit on 15 November and would likely inaugurate the line, but the state is still waiting for the Centre's confirmation. Some reports did not rule out 3 November. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said it could open by mid-November (Swarajya, 29 October 2026).
The plan is five trains, every six minutes at peak and every ten minutes off-peak (Swarajya, 29 October 2026). The opening takes the network to 103.6 km. Stations and localities: Pink Line Metro Bangalore Stations List: All 18 Stops (2026)
Why do reports give different Blue Line dates?
Because they describe different pieces of the same line. The word 'airport line' can mean only Hebbal to the airport, the full KR Puram to airport phase, or all 58 km from Silk Board. Trial dates differ too: BMRCL's managing director said trials would start by 15 November (NativePlanet, 16 October 2026), while the minister's review and Construction World (28 October 2026) said by the end of October. We found no report that trials have begun.

How should a homebuyer use these dates?
- Treat only an open station as fact. Everything else is a dated target.
- Add a margin of your own. The elevated Pink Line was reported for May 2026 and then targeted for 15 August 2026 before this clearance (Swarajya; Business Today).
- Check whether the stretch has a contractor and a start date. Orange and Red Line homes are a 2030s story on current dates.
