In short

Updated 20 October 2026

Indians and OCI card-holders living in the Gulf can buy a home in India much as residents do: any residential or commercial property except agricultural land, plantation property or a farmhouse, with no RBI approval. Payment must come through Indian banking channels, a power of attorney signed at your Indian mission lets someone register for you, and the whole purchase can be done without flying in.
